DINAJPUR: Barapukuria coalmine resumes extraction on Sunday after a three-month suspension following an accident in the mine that left two people killed and over a dozen injured.
The coal extraction is going to resume as the ‘diagreement over operations’ with the Chinese contractor XMC has been solved, Managing Director of the mine Md Quamruzzaman said.
Following the accident, the Chinese contractor and the government had split over mitigating the crisis as methane gas spread inside, sources said.
