Blair couple leaves Dhaka

DHAKA: Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie left Dhaka on Sunday morning after their three-day private trip to Bangladesh.

A plane carrying the Blairs took off from Shahjalal International Airport at about 10am.

Foreign secretary Mohamed Mijarul Quayes and British high commissioner in Bangladesh Stephen Evans, among others, saw them off.

During his visit, Blair met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her residence on Saturday morning and opposition BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in the afternoon at the British High Commission`s guest house in the city.
