CHITTAGONG: A head-on collision between a truck and a bus on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Sitakunda upazila on Monday morning left two people killed and another three injured.

The deceased were named as bus driver Yasin of Noakhali district and truck driver Joynal of Feni.

Witnesses said a Chittagong-bound bus of Green Line Paribahan and a Feni-bound truck collided head-on in front of Faujdarhat Cadet College at around 7 am, killing the drivers on the spot.

The injured were given treatment at a local hospital.

Baro Aulia Highway police sergeant Amir Faruque said, “Both the accident-ridden vehicles got twisted into useless wrecks.”
