Ulfa leaders Ranjan, Prodip sent to jail

KISHOREGANJ: A Kishoreganj court Monday sent ULFA leader Major Ranjan Chowdhury and his associate Pradip Marak to jail.  

Magistrate Md Ali Ahsan of Senior Judicial Court of Kishoreganj passed the order as they were produced before the court.

The magistrate also asked police to submit charge sheet against them.  

The court set September 29 for next hearing.
     
Members of Rapid Action Battalion-9 arrested them from Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj on 17 July.

RAB-9 Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) Md Korimullah filed four separate cases against them.

Ranjan Chowdhury alias Major Ranjan alias-Prodip Roy, aide of Top ULFA leader Paresh Barua, was a resident of Dhubra District of Assam.

Ranjan was conducting party activities in Bangladesh at Jhinaigati in Sherpur border area. Pradip Marak was Ranjan’s aide.
