BDR DAD sacked for violating BDR Act

DHAKA: The Bangladesh Rifles authorities have dismissed one more Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) on charge of violating BDR Act during the mutiny on February 25 and 26 last year at BDR Pilkhana Headquarters.

Director of BDR Sadar Rifles Battalion Colonel Aziz told banglanews24.com.bd, “DAD Siraj of 36 Rifles Battalion was sacked for violating the BDR Act.”

Earlier, 11 officials and staff, including a DAD were terminated from their job for the same allegation.

A total of 73 people, including 56 army officers, were killed in the bloody mutiny at the BDR Headquarters on February 25 and 26, 2009.

Later, six special courts, including two in Dhaka, were formed to carry out the trail of the mutiny under BDR act.
