DHAKA: Opposition leader and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia alleged again that the ruling government is executing repressive policy against the opposition instead of getting down to mitigating public sufferings.
“The Government has failed to tackle utility crises on the one hand and repressed the leaders and activists of the opposition on the other,” said the ex-PM.
She came up with the criticism of the government of her political archrival Sheikh Hasina at an Iftar party hosted by Dhaka City BNP at the south plaza of the parliament building on Tuesday evening.
The BNP chief, who is now leading anti-government agitation on various issues, called upon all the nationalist forces to be united for movement to give a fit reply to government’s “misdeeds, misrule and failure in implementing its election pledges”.
BNP standing committee members Khondokar Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Jamir Uddin Sircar, among others, attended the party with DCC mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka in the chair.
